Swedish Institute scholarships are one of the most competitive and highly ranked scholarships all across the world. The Swedish Institute Scholarships are fully funded, offered by the Government of Sweden for talented and passionate students to pursue their master’s degree program in Sweden. Studying in Sweden will leave a good impact on all international students due to their hospitable culture.

The scholarship applies only to a full-time master’s degree program for a year or two. 600 master’s programs are offered in top institutes under Swedish Institutes Scholarships. The funding will be provided for the duration of scholarships, and the duration of funding will not be extended. The Swedish Institute Scholarship is for the students who possess leadership potential and are eager to serve for sustainable development goals and contribute to the community’s development.

Swedish Institute Scholarships will cover tuition fees as well as medical insurance, and they will also contribute to the living expense for the duration of the master’s program. Approx. 350 scholarships will be awarded to the international students, and all the successful candidates will receive membership of the Swedish Institute Network for Future Global Leaders. It will help students with leadership skills and professions. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs funds the scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria:

Here are the criteria for the Sweden Government Scholarships 2022:

  • The applicants must be citizens from the above-provided list of eligible countries.
  • The applicants should be enrolled in a Swedish University for a master’s program.
  • The applicants should have completed a minimum of 3000 hours of work experience.
  • The applicants must show leadership skills and experience.
  • The students must be mentally and physically fit.


  • Sweden Government Scholarships will provide:
  • A full tuition fee waiver.
  • Medical insurance will be provided.
  • SEK 10,000 monthly will be provided to the awardees as living expenses.
  • SEK 10,000 will be provided further as a traveling grant.
  • Awardees will get access to the Swedish Institute Alumni Network after graduation.

Application process:

Applicants have to apply for the university’s master’s program until 17 January 2022 and select the top 4 eligible programs. After submission of the application for the Sweden Government Scholarships, applicants will receive an application number. Then they can apply online for the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professional Program. All the candidates should submit the required documents and application fee before the deadline. And the application must contain correct information.

The successful applicants will be notified about admission by April 7, 2022; only those who get admissions confirmed will be considered for Swedish Institute Scholarships. All the successful applicants will be informed via E-mail if they are finally selected for a scholarship by April 28, 2022.
